Does Your Pet Need a Chiropractor?

Do you have a pet that just doesn’t seem to get around like he/she used to? Has Buddy just not seemed as limber or walked just right since you played Frisbee with him…last year? Are you becoming frustrated after all of the tests and exams with no determination of cause or any solution? Your pet just may need a chiropractic adjustment.

Dogs, cats, and even horses can have subluxations, which are misalignments of their vertebrae. These misalignments will put pressure on the nerves in the spinal area and may cause pain, restrict motion, or alter body position.

Utilizing manual manipulation or a small device called an activator, a veterinarian certified in chiropractic care can use a gentle, yet rapid and specific force to correct the misalignment. Frequently, pets with muscle and joint pain, muscle spasms, reduced movement, or back and neck disorders will experience almost immediate relief after an adjustment. Over time, as muscles and bones stay in a certain position, they adapt to this position and it becomes the standard. Although a correction has occurred, muscles and bones may revert back to the old “standard” position. Therefore, adjustments may have to continue over a period of time, to help the vertebrae relearn the correct position.

Your veterinarian is the best person to discuss a treatment regimen based on the individual needs of your pet. Consult a certified veterinarian about chiropractic manipulation and learn about this holistic method of correcting musculoskeletal ailments without the extensive use of pain masking drugs.
